Happy National Earth Day! As we celebrate this day, it’s important to reflect on the impact we have on the planet and the steps we can take to build a more sustainable future. At Kinseed, we are committed to doing our part to reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.

As a digital health company, we believe that technology can play a key role in creating a more sustainable future. By harnessing the power of modern technology, we can reduce waste, cut down on carbon emissions, and create more efficient systems that benefit both people and the planet.

Our SwiftCare platfrom’s core foundation is being digital first, with a flexi data schema. This empowers clinical teams to take control by defining their data forms. Hence, they can capture information for differing patient demographics to deliver effective care across any clinical pathway from anywhere.  These EHRs help reduce CO2 emissions and paper consumption whilst improving efficiency. In addition, SwiftCare removes the need for on-premises IT hardware and infrastructure, minimising energy use and helping to prevent the disposal of non-sustainable landfill.

Widespread digitalisation is key to delivering a ‘Net Zero’ NHS, especially in healthcare settings. The adoption of Cloud First and Public Internet First has increased digital transformation within the NHS and healthcare sector. However, while centralisation of compute and storage has offered economies scale and elasticity, the requirement for real-time data processing at the edge is a critical development to support real time event handling in remote or mobile healthcare. The use of emergent IoT and edge compute technologies within our SwiftCare solution offers the NHS the ability to distribute critical digital innovation where it may not have been possible.

In terms of the way we operate, we make a conscious effort to minimise our energy usage and reduce our carbon footprint by using energy-efficient devices, implementing power-saving settings, and ensuring our offices are running as efficiently as possible. We believe that every small step we take towards reducing our environmental impact adds up and makes a difference.

Another key focus for us is creating a culture of sustainability within our company. Our employees can work wherever they are – removing the “needless commute”, thus reducing our carbon emissions through building energy use and travel.  We also continuously assess our full supply chain to ensure our suppliers and partners of services and materials are following a similar if not stricter Carbon Neutral process and chain of causality.

At our core, we believe that a healthier planet is essential for creating a healthier future for everyone. By prioritising sustainability in everything we do, we are working towards a future that is cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable for generations to come.

On this National Earth Day, we encourage everyone to reflect on their impact on the planet and take action to create a more sustainable future. Together, we can build a healthier planet and a better tomorrow.
